Just finished today...I had reserved mine at the Library and did not recieve a copy until this week.

Like many others it was hard to get started and the lingo and the inner conversations were a little hard to get used to...BUT with that said I thoroghly enjoyed the book. I'm not a hard core sci-fi fan, but I hesitate to even call this sci-fi. SM's stories are SO character driven, they seem to transcend the "genre" they are placed in. I enjoyed getting to know these new characters and was suprised to hear we may see them again. I would read more, definitely.

I'm not sure it will surpass my love for Bella and Edward, but count me in for more of the Wanderer.

Jess

Is anyone else having withdrawals? I became so wrapped up in the characters by the end of the book that I am having withdrawals not knowing what is going to happen. I guess I will just have to keep re-reading my favorite parts. Praying for a sequel or two!!!

I completely did. Now I am very slowly rereading it.

aaannddd done! Finally! I had to stop reading 50 pages short of the end- I couldn't bear the thought of Wanda truly killing herself- ok having Doc kill her. I knew SM wouldn't let that happen but I wasn't sure- my DH came home to me crying the other night...
I am surprised the Host did grow on me- you can see earlier posts where I wasn't connecting- it took about halfway through but I finally started to care for Wanda- and really loathe Jared- but thats another forum

Only 3 days til breaking dawn chapter 1 whoo hooo

I bought it a week ago and still haven't read it. It's just sitting on my shelf. I can't seem to pick it up and read it. I've been so busy lately. Oh well.

I'm almost the same, except it's not being busy that's the problem, although I have just today read the first chpater. I'm finding it too hard to get myself out of the Edward frame of mind to try anything else, even if Stephenie wrote it.

I finished it a couple of days ago. Like a lot of you, I had a difficult time at the beginning. I was having Edward withdrawls while I was trying to get into the story. I solved this problem by reading New Moon at the same time and alternating between books. However, once Wanderer went into the desert, I was hooked and didn't have any problems loving the book from that point on.

Why am I having such a hard time getting into The Host??? I'm about 50 pages in and I'm really struggling with it. I keep telling myself to give it a chance, give it a chance, it will grab you. I just hope it eventually will.

I am not that far yet but it has finally grabbed my interest. I was a bit apprehensive, at first - but I am loving the "struggle", as I will put it.

I just started it tonight. I've had it for a little while, and couldn't bring myself to start it. I feel like I'm cheating on Edward Laughing I hope he will forgive me, because I feel like if I don't start reading something else my family will be calling for professional help!

Persevere ladies, I swear it is worth it in the end. I have just finished it and I am so glad I stuck with it. Funny how we all feel we are betraying Edward somehow!
