I have three favorite Alice moments... and they are all in order... how useful!
1. Twilight... when she pops into Edwards room after she hears him playfully tackle Bella and asks if there is enough of the snack to share!
2. NW... Grand Theft Auto... I'm pretty sure my kids thought I was insane at that point because I was laughing out loud..
3. Eclipse... When she comes bounding off the porch to inform Bella that she knows the terms of the wedding planning before Bells even has time to tell her that she can plan the wedding!
I seriously just love Alice. I'm pretty sure that other than Jo March from Little Women.. she is my favorite female fictional character of all time! _________________ -Korrie
"Do you want me to watch this alone?" - Bella
"No, I'll mostly be watching you, anyway" - Edward

Me too She is just SO adorable!! I love the way she's so bubbly - I can literally see her bounding, clapping when excited, etc. I find her terribly funny too. Alice is definitely one of my favourite female fictional characters. _________________

Yes, me too.I would like to say that for me, Alice is the most endearing character of them all. She is almost always happy and accepting of her life. I feel that she proably had a really crappy life. She takes what is dealt her and moves on with joy. I guess she realizes thta she has a good life with the Cullans and won't complain about her past, unlike Rosalie.
Her relationship with Edward is heartwarming, she cares for him so much!
It's odd, I just thought of something.. Edward is so opposite Alice..??? _________________ "I didn't want to be the monster! I didn't want to kill this room full of harmless children! I didn't want to lose everything I'd gained

One of my favorite Alice moments is when she and Bella are on the plane to Volterra, and she tells Bella something like "it's all gotten beyond ridiculous, I'm thinking of changing you myself." For some reason, I just love that. She's seen in her visions that Bella will be changed, she's tired of all the drama, she'll just do it herself!!! I love her spunk! _________________

My favorite Alice moments are when she is showing her fierce loyalty and protection of the Cullen's. We were having this conversation in the Edward and Alice's mental conversation thread and it got me thinking beyond the silly, fun Alice moments. Don't get me wrong, I love me so silly Alice moments but there is so much more to her.
I think the reason that she is so devoted to the Cullen's and their lifestyle is because of the fact that she has no ties to her human life. Where Rosalie clings to her memories of her human family, Alice has only ever known one family and she will do everything in her supernatural power to protect and preserve them and their lifestyle. She has fully accepted Bella as part of her family and so her protection extends to her and Charlie as well.
A few examples I can think of off the top of my head-
~When she comes back to Forks in New Moon. She's taking care of Charlie. He has become extended family and so she feels it is her duty to take care of him.
~The trip to Volterra. She is willing to sacrifice herself even though the possibility of saving Edward and of surviving is very, very slim. She even says that to Jasper on the plane.
~On that same trip when she tells Bella that if they can't save Edward she will do everything in her power to return Bella to Forks unharmed even though Bella has other plans.
~When she keeps Edward out of her head during graduation. She's knows that the danger isn't immediate and that if Edward learns the truth about the newborn army coming after Bella that he will over react. She loves Bella and wants her to have that human moment. She knows that Edward wants Bella to have the human moment and so she protects him by keeping him out of her mind by reciting the alphabet in multiple languages. At the same time she is protecting the Cullen's. If the Cullen's and Bella were not at graduation the people in Forks would know something was amiss and that would blow their cover.
~In the bathroom after the battle. Alice reminds Bella that she is a Cullen now and that her first priorty is to maintain their way of life. It doesn't matter that Bella wants to be with Jacob, her job now is to make everything appear normal to Charlie.
Whew! I'm rambling and not really sure any of this makes sense. _________________

I love to hear all of this DEEP stuff about Alice because she is more than a SHOP-A-HOLIC.
Another thing I love about Alice is that she seems to put herself out there to humans more than any other Cullan. With Bella, with other students at school and with all the parties. While she has done may of these things for Bella, I think also that she is trying to connect to her human life that she has no memory of and what she imagines it might have been like.
While it is happy, it is sad too. I love Alice!!! _________________ "I didn't want to be the monster! I didn't want to kill this room full of harmless children! I didn't want to lose everything I'd gained

Nicely put , just as Edward told Bella that she is resurrecting the human emotions in him, I think she is doing the same with Alice. Actually, maybe she's done that with the whole Cullen family . _________________ ...and the lion fell in love with the lamb

Me three!!! I just picture her always smiling and giggling. But I also picture her just gliding and moving like a ballerina - ok, you're going to think I am weird, but you know on the Matrix how they kind of glide when they move??? That is how I picture her, only really feminine and happy!!!

I thought this needed to be posted here because it goes along with my long rambling protective post.

Ladies, I just can't wait for Midnight Sun to come out --- most of these questions will be answered! Come on SM -- get it done already!
Hey, do you think if we kidnap Rob and tie him down we can get him to tell us some insights to the book????

Yesterday my husband came home from work and I was working on a list of places I knew of that were left after Hurricane Katrina that have been here since 1901. Here being Biloxi....
My husband is working in Biloxi right now so I asked him if he could think of any homes or buildings left in Biloxi from the time that Alice would have been here if she were real of course.
He replied with, " Well yea the house we are repairing now was built in 1900"
I said, "Whoa, Alice could have lived there."
He just rolled his eyes!
I have just been drawn to Biloxi since reading the books.
And I love Alice!

Does anyone know if Stephenie ever said why she chose Biloxi, MS out of everywhere to be Alice's home town. I am just curious because Biloxi is not very large or popular.
I do love it that there is a character from around here though!
